MARAWI CITY, Philippines — Philippine Humanitarian Care (PHILCARE) Inc. completed a 29-day Ramadan Iftar programme in 2025, serving a total of 8,700 iftar meals across multiple communities and institutions in Mindanao.
Implemented throughout Ramadan, the programme reached a diverse range of participants, including students, Qur’an learners, orphans, internally displaced persons, village residents, mosque congregations and members of the wider community.
Activities were conducted across locations in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur, Lanao del Norte, Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro City, in coordination with local institutions, community leaders, schools, universities, mosques and other community stakeholders.
The programme included daily iftar activities in educational institutions, community settings and places serving vulnerable groups. Among the documented locations were Mindanao State University in Marawi City, communities in Marantao, Balindong, Saguiaran, Marogong and other areas of Lanao del Sur, Baloi in Lanao del Norte, as well as sites in Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro City.
Beyond providing meals during Ramadan, the programme also created opportunities for volunteer service, community engagement and cooperation with local institutions.
PHILCARE recognizes the contributions of its volunteers, coordinators and community stakeholders who supported the implementation of the programme throughout the 29-day period.
