Philippine Humanitarian Care (PHILCARE) Inc. strengthened its institutional preparedness and field response capacity through the participation of its Humanitarian Program Officer and General Manager, Mu-ahz P. Omar, in specialized humanitarian staff readiness and emergency response training in Quezon City.

On June 15, 2024, Omar completed the Staff Readiness Training & TMAT under CARE’s RiskReady initiative. The training included practical learning related to staff safety, field readiness and operating in challenging humanitarian environments.

Training sessions included practical scenarios on field safety and security, including checkpoint awareness, as well as hands-on exercises designed to strengthen readiness for emergency situations.

Omar also successfully completed the STOP THE BLEED® Course, recognized by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma. The course develops essential knowledge and practical skills for responding to life-threatening bleeding during emergencies.

PHILCARE recognizes that effective humanitarian response depends not only on resources and assistance, but also on personnel who are properly prepared to operate safely, responsibly and effectively in challenging environments.

The participation forms part of PHILCARE’s continuing efforts to strengthen the knowledge, safety and operational readiness of its personnel for humanitarian and emergency response work.
